Da Paolo Cost Radar

Restaurant cost intelligence web app

Designed and built a private operational web app for Da Paolo that brings supplier invoices, ingredient costs, stock and menu recipes into one cost-intelligence view for day-to-day margin decisions.

Built
Product design / React web app / Invoice parsing / Cost modelling
Outcome
One private view of supplier, stock and menu-cost movement

The system combines invoice ingestion and ingredient mapping with supplier history, stock visibility and menu-level cost modelling, so a change in an ingredient can be traced through to the dishes it affects. All portfolio captures use synthetic fixture data; no live supplier, invoice or operational records are shown.

Waxflower

Listening bar website proof of concept

Created a self-initiated proof-of-concept redesign for Waxflower, exploring how the Brunswick East listening bar's identity could translate into a minimal, tactile website spanning reservations, venue story, music and gift cards. This concept was not commissioned or adopted as Waxflower's live website.

Built
Website proof of concept / Reservation experience / Weather engine
Outcome
Concept exploration only - not adopted as the live Waxflower site
Prototype
View proof-of-concept build

The centrepiece is a weather engine with eight day and night states across fine, cloudy, rain and storm conditions. Melbourne weather changes the concept atmosphere through light, rain, reflections and small visual behaviours, demonstrating how a venue website could respond to its surroundings without changing the underlying reservation and gift-card systems.

Ballard's

Restaurant website & online shop

I designed and built a website for Ballard's that does more than take reservations. It brings the restaurant's personality, food and drinks, cookbook sales and the tools staff use to manage them into one connected experience.

Built
Website design / Bookings / Online shop / Staff dashboard
Outcome
One branded experience for customers, with simpler online sales and updates for staff
Live
Visit Ballard's
  • I built a custom website that feels like Ballard's, bringing table bookings, the food menu, drinks and the Shop together in one place.
  • On desktop and tablet, Menu, Pouring and Shop open beside the homepage. On phones, each section has its own easy-to-use page.
  • I added an online Shop and cart so customers can buy or pre-order multiple cookbooks, choose pickup or postage, and pay through Ballard's existing PayID.
  • I created a private /staff dashboard where the team can view and search Shop orders and sales, check payment status, and export sales records to CSV.
  • Staff can verify PayID transfers against the bank account before marking an order paid, manage stock and preorders, and track pickup or postage from the same dashboard.
  • I built a publishing tool that lets staff upload their existing Menu and Pouring PDFs to update the website themselves, without needing to change any code.

Oranges & Lemons

Produce website & ordering proof of concept

Created a self-initiated proof-of-concept redesign for Oranges & Lemons, exploring a clearer customer-facing website and ordering experience for the Brunswick East produce business. This concept was not commissioned or adopted as Oranges & Lemons' live website.

Built
Website proof of concept / Ordering experience / Responsive UI
Outcome
Concept exploration only - not adopted as the live Oranges & Lemons site

The concept pairs a playful, image-led public site with simplified hospitality, home-delivery and wholesale ordering pathways, while preserving useful legacy information and clarifying delivery rules. It demonstrates how the business's fragmented legacy workflow could be consolidated without assuming the concept is part of its actual operations.

Babbage Fresh Foods

Local grocer website proof of concept

Created a self-initiated website proof of concept for Babbage Fresh Foods after noticing the Brunswick East grocer did not have a dedicated site. The concept was not commissioned or adopted by Babbage Fresh Foods and is not presented as its live website.

Built
Website proof of concept / Brand page / Static site
Outcome
Concept exploration only - not adopted by Babbage Fresh Foods

The prototype explores a deliberately minimal, low-maintenance company page focused on identity and immediate utility: location, opening hours, phone and social links, with a small animated leaf detail. It is retained as a design and development exercise only.
